DENUNCIA DE HECHOS

1. En mayo de 2016 se conformó de manera informal Maclovia Coop gracias a la colaboración de dos costureras, dos diseñadoras y Laura Ochoa Portillo y yo, Daniela Villanueva Peña Alfaro. En ningún momento formalizamos ante notario la conformación de dicha cooperativa y tampoco acudimos a algún abogado para elaborar algún contrato.

2. El 8 de octubre de 2016 le hice un préstamo personal a Laura Ochoa Portillo por la cantidad de 27 mil MXN. Le hice una transferencia a su cuenta bancaria por 19 mil pesos y le entregué 8 mil MXN en efectivo. Dicho préstamo lo hice con base en la confianza y ella jamás firmó pagarés.

3. A fines de octubre de 2016 me fui a Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos, por cuestiones personales y también me llevé mercancía de la cooperativa para venderla y promocionar la marca entre la comunidad migrante. Eran 10 mandiles y 20 carteras con valor aproximado de 3500 MXN. Yo vendí algo, devolví 2000 MXN (100 USD) y, después, tuve problemas personales. Laura me comentó que estaba expulsada del proyecto. Le comenté que estaba de acuerdo. Me pidió que devolviera la mercancía y le dije que iba a salir más costoso enviarla de vuelta. Nuevamente, en base a la confianza, le pedí que hiciera cuentas y que descontara el dinero de la mercancía del préstamo personal que le hice. En respuesta, ella decidió bloquearme y robar mi dinero.

4. En 2018 la contacté personalmente para pedirle mi dinero. Ella me respondió que no le debía nada y que no se iba a dejar "extorsionar" por mi.

5. En 2023 le volví a decir que me devolviera el dinero. Ella reconoció por medio de un supuesto abogado (quien nunca se ha identificado con su cédula) que ella robó el dinero.

6. Debido a que Laura Ochoa Portillo no ha devuelto el dinero, el 18 de agosto de 2023 interpuse una denuncia en su contra ante la Fiscalía General de Justicia de la Ciudad de México por robo y abuso de confianza.

My mom and I were invited to a wedding in Colorado and we decided we wanted to visit Denver. It was a great opportunity for me and my mom to visit the city. We decided to book at Hostel Fish. The place looked awesome. It has nice art all over the place, a bar and you can go downstairs and find a great spot to listen to live music: Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox.

Nevertheless, on June 4th I was bitten by bedbugs. I had a terrible night. I hardly slept. On June 5th I asked a woman who was at the front desk if she could give me another bed since I was feeling uncomfortable. She denied my request telling me that “if I moved to another bed, I would spread the bedbugs”. She only offered to change the linen. I refused and went to bed since I was really tired and her answer implied the hostel new about the bedbugs. I had an awful night. I barely slept.

According to another guest many people have had the same problem. But the hostel does not want to be accountable for the plague of bedbugs they have. After quick research, I found there are 11 reviews in Google Maps about bedbugs in this hostel and another one in Facebook. There are also some reviews about bedbugs at Hostel Fish on Hostelword. When I complained about this problem the hostel replied denying everything. They talk about a “pest control company” that found “zero evidence of bedbug activity”. What company? Where is the report? The Department of Public Health & Environment should determine if there is a bedbug plague at Hostel Fish, not a private company.

Many other have complained, and the hostel says “they monitor and inspect for [bedbug activity] and that “they took immediate action to eliminate the problem”. So, they do recognize they have a bedbug problem, but they keep on telling that “new guests introduce bugs to the room”. The hostel does not want to be accountable for this bedbug plague. Actually, when you have a plague, you have to shut down the business and throw everything away since bedbugs live in mattresses. According to the article of bedbugs posted in Wikipedia:

Bed bugs spend much of their time in dark, hidden locations like mattress seams, or cracks in a wall. Treatment is directed towards the symptoms. Eliminating bed bugs from the home is often difficult, partly because bed bugs can survive up to 70 days without feeding. Repeated treatments of a home may be required These treatments may include heating the room to 50 °C (122 °F) for more than 90 minutes, frequent vacuuming, washing clothing at high temperatures, and the use of various pesticides.

Personally, as many other guests have complained, I had several bites all over my body. I even wrote to the hostel telling them I was not feeling good. I had one bite in a recent wrist surgery and bites in my back, my glute, and my feet. I was kindly asking for a refund but Hostel Fish keeps on denying everything. I told them I needed to go to a physician but they don't want to be responsible for a problem many guests have pointed out. What a shame! I attach evidence.
